As well as Microsoft Excel®, I'm skilled at using and programming Microsoft Access^TM. While powerful in itself, if the client requires, I can use the VBA language to modify Micrsoft Access and program it with additional functionality.

The advantages of this to a business are potentially huge, and include:

• Automated Reports: Reports can take hours, or even days, to create; pulling in data from various disparate sources, then combining them all, formatting it all to look presentable, and arranging the information so that it is readable. I can automate reports so that they create themselves in seconds.

• Databases: Microsoft Access^TM is a perfectly good database application for a small-/medium-sized business or department. I can also program databases to add in additional features as and when required.

• Split Databases: In some cases, it may be advantageous to have the information in a database sitting on a single machine (which would act as a server), while several other machines would feature the user interface (the "front end", as it's called in IT jargon). Thus, several users in an office could query and amend a single database without the entire database actually being on their own PCs.

• Intelligent Input Forms: Such a form could be used to automatically update information held on other files on a PC or network, or could eMail the data entered onto it to another party. It would be "intelligent" in that it would be aware if information was missing, or of the wrong type, etc.
